Current Programming

Our programming is always changing and increasing to provide more variety and opportunity within the community! Be sure to create a family account and opt into our emails to stay in the know!

One Time

Classes, programs and events under the One Time category are not part of a series and can be attended singularly and paid for singularly online or walk-in. These are often drop-in style classes.

Series or Session

Classes, programs and events under the Series or Session category are ongoing for a set period of time. Most series classes have a pay in full or weekly pay option – regardless of how you sign up for payment, you are paying the full series fee. These are not drop-in style classes. Fees can be paid online or cash payment at Pickaway Place. Some Series classes are prorated if you join a week late.

Ongoing

Classes, programs and events under the Ongoing category happen weekly on a set day at the same time every week. Occasionally for major holidays or events, these classes will change. Classes in the Ongoing category can be paid for one-at-a-time in advance online or walk-in. These are drop-in style classes.

Occasional

Classes, programs and events under the Occasional category pop-up throughout each month and are paid for one-time. Occasional programs can be pre-paid for online or walk-in payment.

POUND Fitness

Ages 13+ with an adult / Tuesdays / $10 / 7-8p.

Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out. Designed for all fitness levels, POUND® provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up and rockin’ out! The workout is easily modifiable and the alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeals to men and women of all ages and abilities. This class is offered on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and is open to people ages 13+ (with an adult.) If your teen age 13-16 wants to take this class, we encourage the adult to also take the class. 

Zumba

Ages 16+ / Mondays & Wednesdays / $5/class / 6-7 p.m.

Perfect For: Everybody and every body! Each Zumba® class is designed to bring people together to sweat it on.

How It Works: We take the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you'll see why Zumba® Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. Super effective? Check. Super fun? Check and check.

Benefits: A total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class.

Yoga

Ages 16+ / Tuesdays / $10/class / 10-11:15a.

Slow Flow Yoga, from our partners at Burn Within Yoga

Perfect for beginners and those seasoned yogis who want a little refresher. This 60 minute class is designed to break down basic poses with focus on details, alignment, transitions, and the breath; while instilling you with the comfort, confidence, strength and knowledge needed to explore and enjoy your yoga practice safely.

Participants should bring a mat, towel and water bottle.

Batting Cage - Winter Special!

Ages 6+ / Assorted Dates/Times / $15

Traditionally, the batting cage is rented in half hour increments at $25/half hour, but during our winter special, half hour cage rental is $15!

Dance Exploration

Ages 3-5 / Mondays / 6:15-7p. / $48

Get ready to move and explore a variety of dance styles. We will use ballet, jazz, modern, and hip hop moves to work on balance, coordination, musicality, and gross motor skills. Each class includes warm up, stretching, center work, and freeze dance. Please wear ballet shoes or bare feet.

Jazzercise

Ages 16+ / Tuesdays & Thursdays / 5:30-6:30 p.m. / Saturdays 9 a.m.

Jazzercise is the original dance party workout. Blending dance with Pilates, yoga, kickboxing and strength training, one 55-minute session can burn up to 800 calories. The results? Long, lean muscles and an undeniable mood boost.​

Kid's Kung Fu

Ages 5-12 / Tuesdays 6-7p. & Saturdays 9-10a. / $60/month

Classes are ongoing and can be joined at any time that meets your schedule.

Children’s Kung Fu is a beginner’s class for learning fundamentals of Chinese Martials Arts or Kung Fu. Kids learn proper etiquette, titles and protocols with in the training hall. They also learn terminology of basic stances, counting to ten in Chinese, and 24 basic techniques which are combined to show the first 6 basic forms. Forms, footwork and techniques are practiced in every class. Techniques are practiced with partner in focused drilling to develop real self-defense applications against an opponent. Techniques are practiced in a controlled manner on another student and pads are used to develop power and accuracy. Safety is the highest priority while training.

Students are also trained in two proprietary systems called Bully Busters and Predator Proof. Bully Busters is a curriculum designed to deal with the quintessential “School Yard Bully”. Predator Proof is a curriculum to teach children how to escape a potential abductor or predator. Classes are taught teach in a friendly manner that is will encourage and empower your child.

There will never be yelling , scolding or punishment but positive support to nurture the next generation of martial artists.

This class is best for kids ages 5-12. The class is $60/month and kids are encouraged to participate up to eight times a month and can be joined at any time. Classes are held Tuesday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. allowing for flexible scheduling within your family to attend up to eight classes a month.

Explore & Play: Winter Special!

Ages 9 mo.+ / Monday-Thursday / 10 a.m. / $5

Bring your little one for some fun and games, storytime, music, guided crafts, large motor movement and more! The Toddler Explorer's is loosely guided from 10-11 a.m. and is open play from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Kids are $5 each and snacks are available at 11 a.m. for .50$ each.

This is a great time to introduce your little to new people, sharing, new friends, activities outside of the home and more! Join us every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday January through March 12, 2020!

Indoor Team Practice - Softball or Baseball

The batting cage is rented in half hour increments at $25/half hour. If a player (group or individual) rents the cage for at least four half hour increments (all scheduled at one time) the half hour rental fee is $15. Rules and regulations apply.* This rental fee applies for pitching or hitting.

Players or teams looking to host indoor practice can book the batting cage and big room for 1.5 hours for $55, if at least four practices are scheduled at one time. Rules and regulations apply.*

Included in Cage/Room Rental

When the cage/room rental is booked for indoor practices, teams have access to the batting cage, pitching machine, pitching mound (baseball), two nets and two tees, anywhere balls, indoor fielding practice balls, assorted exercise equipment such as jump ropes, medicine balls and more. The cage/room rental is available most evenings and weekends, including Sundays.

Child Watch During Exercise Classes

Ages Toddler + / See Dates & Times Below / $5 per kid

Kids ages toddler and older will be watched during exercise class. The kids can complete homework assignments, play with provided toys, use our wifi on their own devices, color and complete other fun activities.

Child watch is $5 per child for the hour during exercise class. This can be paid for in advance or drop-in style.

Mondays & Wednesdays: 6-7 p.m. (Zumba) Tuesdays & Thursdays: 5:30-6:30 p.m.(Jazzercise)
Tuesdays: 7-8 p.m. (POUND)

Ballet

Ages 6-9 / Mondays / 7p. / $48

This class will explore the basics of ballet. Students will use ballet to strengthen their core muscles, flexibility, focus, and musicality. Each class includes warm up, stretching, center work, and across the floor work. Please wear ballet shoes or bare feet.

Series

Developmental Gymnastics

Ages 5-10 / Saturdays, Feb. 15-March 14 / 11:45a. / $67

Children will be learning basic skills in vault, bars, beam and floor, as well as working on strength, flexibility and balance in order to establish gymnastics foundations to build upon in more advanced skills on each of the four events. 

This class is lead by our partners at Vitality Gymnastics.

Tiny Tots Gymnastics

Ages 2 & Younger with Parent / Saturdays, Feb. 15-March 14 / 10:15 / $54

Ages 4 & Younger / Tuesdays, Feb. 18 - March. 24 / 11:45 a.m. / $64

Toddlers are introduced to exercise, the facility and new friends. They develop fine and gross motor movements, coordination and balance as they practice following direction and taking turns while spending quality time with a parent and preparing for more advanced classes. 

This class is lead by our partners at Vitality Gymnastics.

Preschool Gymnastics

Ages 3-5 / Saturday, Feb. 15-March 14 / 10:45-11:15a. / $54

Young children practice body awareness, learning basic skills in vault, bars, beam and floor while practicing following directions and taking turns. They will work on strength, flexibility and balance in order to establish gymnastics foundations to build upon in more advanced classes.

Ninja Activities for Kids

Ages 5-12 / Saturdays, Feb. 15-March 14 / 11:15a. / $54


Participants build strength and flexibility as they learn to safely navigate obstacles by running, jumping, climbing, swinging and landing safely. 

This class is taught by our partners at Vitality Gymnastics.

Babysitting Course

Ages 9+ / T/Th July 7 & 9 / 4-8:30p. / $80

Would your son or daughter know what to do if the child they were babysitting for started to choke on something?  Would they know what to do if they were taking care of several children and someone came to the door?  Why not enroll them in a Better Baby Sitter class! This class is a four-hour class held two times - Tuesday, July 7 and Thursday, July 9 from 4-8:30 p.m.  It is a 4.5 hour class on both days. Students should bring a sack snack/dinner. Class fee is $80 per student and can be paid in full or weekly for $20/week. This class is best for kids ages 9-15.

Students will learn: Responsibilities of having a babysitting job, Babysitter's Rights, CPR and First Aid on infants and children, Growth and Development, Safety Issues, Feeding infants and toddlers, Marketing Strategies

One Time

Roller Skate Clinics

Ages 5+ / Feb. 27 / 6:30p. / $10

Ages 5+ / Mar. 5 / 6:30p. / $10

Learn basic rollerskating skills taught by the Roundtown Roller Derby Team. Participants should bring their own skates and protective gear. Some protective gear will be provided. Skaters interested in learning more about the Roller Derby team can learn more at any of the sessions.

Preschool Exploration: A Montessori Inspired Class

Ages 2-5 / Tuesday March 24 / 12:15p. / $12

Explore the big concepts of preschool with this Montessori inspired class designed to engage your child in independent learning. Storytime, crafts, science, language arts, STEM and social studies will be explored with theme activities.

Ladies Night Out: Sip & Shop

Ages 18+ / Friday, March. 27 / 5-9 p.m. / $FREE to Attend

Grab your best girls or plan to meet up with new friends and enjoy an evening dedicated to fun!

Enjoy delicious food from Taesty's and sip some of the latest wines and other beverages! Food for purchase is available for anyone who stops by - have the hubby and kids stand in line, you shop around and then head home with yummy dinner!

With nearly 20 local vendors selling a variety of home, personal and clothing goods, you're sure to find some great items just in time for Easter! We'll also have a physic medium and chair massages!

Introductory Cricut Explore and/or Cricut Maker Machines

Ages 18+ / Feb. 23 / 1:30-4/4:30 p.m. / $75

Learn basics on how to design in the Cricut program, how to cut using your machine, make a T-Shirt and how to apply vinyl. This 3+ hour course combines multiple classes and lessons into one comprehensive afternoon. In addition to learning about your machine, how to apply vinyl and make a t-shirt, you will walk away with a vinyl-applied project and t-shirt. 

Participants need to bring their own computer, Cricut machine and cords. Please also bring your mat and accessory tools, if you have them, if not, please include a note in the registration process. Also, please include your shirt size in the registration process. If no size is provided, a size large will be provided.

Hair Care, Styling, Makeup & More with Salon Ablaze by Tara Faye

All Ages / Sunday, March 29 / 2 p.m. / $15 per family

The Salon Ablaze by Tara Faye expert and master stylists will lead an engaging, educational and motivational class on haircare, hair styling and make-up. This class is designed as an adult/child class where both participate in the class. Time will be spent on braids, updos, styling and curling, as well as on makeup; with time for questions and answers. Class is family fee based, so please only register one student per family. 

Royal Party!

All Ages / Sat., March 1 / 2-4 p.m. / $15 by 2/1, $20 after 2/1

We're calling all little superheroes, princes and princesses to enjoy an afternoon with their favorite characters! Participants will enjoy games, crafts, dancing, snacks and special time with the characters. 

Additional details, including photography packages, characters in attendance and more, will be provided soon!

Registration price is family based and includes people within the same household. 

St. Patrick's Day Theme Cake Decorating

Big & Little Ages 5+ / March 10 / 6:30 p.m. / $30

Get in the luck of the season by decorating a St. Patrick's theme cake! This is an adult & me class for ages 5+. All supplies, including cakes are provided. Please register in advance to ensure you have a cake - space is limited. Please only register one person in your pair.

Easter Bunny Theme Cake Decorating

Decorate an adorable bunny cake in time for your Easter celebration! This is an adult & me class for ages 5+. All supplies, including cakes are provided. Please register in advance to ensure you have a cake - space is limited. Please only register one person in your pair.

May the 4th Theme Cake Decorating

Big & Little Ages 5+ / May 4 / 6:30 p.m. / $30

Star Wars fans get ready for this May the 4th theme cake decorating class! This is an adult & me class for kids ages 5+. All supplies, including cakes are provided. Please register in advance to ensure you have a cake - space is limited. Please only register one person in your pair.

Questions

Payment for any class or program is due in full by the start date of the event. In some cases, deposit payments are required to hold a spot in the class. Payment can be in the form of credit card or cash. For series or session classes, when registering, you are signing up to pay the full fee of the class – regardless of selecting pay weekly or pay one-time. 

The age requirements for the camps are set by the partner organization.

Preschool : generally best for kids who have experience at least one year of preschool through kindergarten age students. Approximately kids ages 4-7.

Elementary : programs are suited for kids who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade and are approximately ages 7-12.

Middle School : camps and classes are created for students who have completed 6th through 8th grade and are approximately ages 11-14.

High School : programs are defined for students who are incoming 9th-12th grade and are approximately ages 14-18.

Multi-Grade : programs defined as multi-grade are for kids in multiple groups (such as elementary and middle or middle and high school). It is best to check the age recommendations in the class descriptions.
